Engaging with art is essential to the human experience. Almost as soon as motor skills are developed, children communicate through artistic expression. The arts challenge us with different points of view, compel us to empathize with “others,” and give us the opportunity to reflect on the human condition. In the light of these, the Creative and performing arts unit of Day Waterman college engage our students in wide range of enrichment activities ranging from Orchestral, Choir, Dance, Drama and Visual Arts.
Our students learn Piano, violin, drums, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, flute, clarinet and sit for ABRSM graded exams up to grade eight on their various instruments. The department produce annually Drama productions and Musical productions where our students are being given opportunity to showcase their talents. Our recent productions are “SACRILAGE” a stage play and ANNIE THE MUSICAL which we were not able to perform due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic. The department also engage in the training of students on African drumming and dance which will be showcased during our Arts week.
