Day Waterman College (DWC) is an impressive purpose-built school for students aged 11 – 16. DWC is in its Fifteenth year and at full capacity will accommodate 700 students. Students follow the English National Curriculum at KS3 and KS4. Essential Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or its equivalent.
Must have played in NUGA, WAUG, Sports festival, or their equivalent.
Special focus on Tennis and/or basketball coaching.
Proven experience/top-level play in Tennis or basketball at competition level.
Strong knowledge of sports coaching best practices and current trends in sports.
Strong knowledge of physical education principles.
Knowledge of different rules and regulations for sports, including athletics and team sports
Key Responsibilities:
Implement a comprehensive PE curriculum.
Conduct classes on various physical activities and sports.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support.
Encourage active participation in physical activities.
Organise and oversee enrichment activities and sporting events.
Ensure student safety during physical activities.
Maintain and inspect equipment and facilities for safety
Work with other teachers, staff, and the house teams to support student learning.
The ideal candidate for the teaching position should have the relevant academic qualifications including a minimum of a first degree, and a minimum of 2 years experience in teaching IGCSE/A-Level preferably in a recognised international school.
